The peace outside confirms to me that the world seems to be better off without me. I tried to reach happiness but could not; we belong to different realms. Now I devote myself only to bearing witness to the passing of time. I was branded so many times that I turned implacable. After a long walk down the corridor, they force me to take a seat. A priest reminds me of God; it is unsettling to dwell on his intentions.
